Springfield, MO — Ozarks Literacy Council (OLC) is proud to announce the officers of its Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term. These dedicated community leaders bring a diverse range of professional experience, skills, and a shared passion for improving lives through reading literacy.
Leading the board as President is Krystal Gregory of Carnahan Evans. With a strong eye for detail and a passion for reading and books, Krystal brings a thoughtful and thorough approach to her leadership role. Her professional experience, attention to detail, and commitment to literacy will be valuable assets as OLC continues to grow and serve learners throughout the community.
Serving as Vice President is Rubecca Wilson, a Special Education Teacher with Republic Public Schools. Rubecca’s background in public education provides valuable insight into the needs of students and families throughout the region and strengthens OLC’s commitment to helping learners build stronger reading literacy skills.
Angela Turpin, a Staff Accountant at Ozarks Technical Community College, will serve as Treasurer. Her accounting experience and financial expertise will help provide strong financial oversight and support responsible stewardship of OLC’s resources as the organization continues to expand its impact.
Serving as Secretary is Jessie Conley. Jessie brings her dedication to Ozarks Literacy Council and the local community to this leadership role, helping support the board’s communication, organization, and ongoing work.
Lori Beeson, Executive Director, said, “Our Board’s new Executive Committee represents the best of what Ozarks Literacy Council stands for: passionate advocates who lead with purpose and never lose sight of why this work matters. With their guidance, I know we’ll continue building a more literate community, one reader and one family at a time, where every child and adult can thrive.”
Through volunteer-powered programs and community partnerships, Ozarks Literacy Council works to make reading literacy support accessible to learners of all ages. From one-to-one tutoring to programs that put books directly into children’s hands, OLC is helping create stronger readers and brighter futures across the Ozarks.
